Thats all I got.

It sounds like a thick zip tie hitting something in the steering column down around the feet area.

Somewhat along the same lines I get a semi loud pop snap from the driver side suspension area when making a somewhat hard right turn.
Im thinking either possible ball joint, endlink?

@Schwarz98, according to the information that I have available to me, the 2008 Saturn Outlook has the 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain warranty with no deductible. Of course you know that it is 5 years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first.

Here is what is covered under the Powertrain Warranty;

Engine
Cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump/oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, turbocharger, supercharger and all internal lubricated parts as well as manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer and engine mount. Timing belts are covered until the first scheduled maintenance interval.

Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case
Case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transfer case, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets.

Drive Systems
Final drive housing, all internal lubricated parts, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, axle housing, propeller shafts, universal joints, wheel bearings, locking hubs, front differential actuator, supports, front and rear hub bearings, seals and gaskets.

So if you were to visit the dealership about this and the technicians were to diagnose your Outlook with the repair needing to be done to a part that is listed above, it should be covered under the Powertrain warranty. Please, feel free to contact your local GM dealership that handles Saturn vehicles and talk with the warranty specialist about this.

There was a TSB about the rubber boot around the steering column. There was also at TSB about "clicking" sound from steering column.

Some problems are common and looking into the other Lambda forums (Acadia, Traverse, Enclave) often yields some good results in your search for information.

The TSB on the steering "clicking" problem can be found here:

Ok. I took mine (08 Outlook XE) in today to Edwards Chevrolet in Birmingham Al. As always it was AWESOME!!
Explained the issue with the steering Noise, Sheryl said it was $136 diagnostic fee. The steering is not under warranty (I have 53k on it) I agreed. Left.
She calls back in 2 hours and says, Yes, it was a problem, we replaced the steering housing and you are all set. Oh and it is free of charge. No diagnostic, nothing.
WOWOWOW!!!!!!! I love these people!

On to the issue. It is TSB pi0029h. You have to replace the steering housing, then put the NEW DEX 6 in. You can not add the new fluid to the old.
