How big is the scratch? The dealer should have the small tubes of touch up paint with the applicator brush. If the scratch isn't that big, you could us some of the touch up paint, wet sand it smooth and then polish it with a good polish (not a cleaner wax, but a pure polish). If done properly, you won't even know it was there. I would get some clear to put on top of it as well if it went through the paint to the plastic.

Shouldn't be too bad. I bought some from the dealer for my Cadillac STS with special metallic paint and it was just over $9.00. The key is going to be the size of the scratch (length and depth). If it is too big, you are better off having a professional paint the whole piece (I know that isn't what you wanted to hear).

I'm glad this is the case...I'll run down to my local GMC dealer and see if they have a matching one for the Red Jewel Tint, because Saturn is saying that they aren't making touch up paint at all!!!! I was quite disgusted by this bit of information. :angryfire:

??? So they (the dealer) must repaint the whole area just to fix a scratch.

Actually...they gave me a number of a guy that specializes in scratches. I went to a body shop and got an estimate of $600 for two small scratches (about 1.5" long and maybe 1/16" wide, each down to the primer). They want to shoot the whole door panel, then fade it into the rear quarter panel and on the front door as well. The salesman said they stopped selling touch up paint because folks weren't buying it. ???
