Truck will not go in drive...

I'm new to the forums and I'm new to all of the issues.. I've had my truck, Outlook 07 XR since January 2011.. I've not had an issues.. (That I'm aware of.. I'm a single woman.) I started having issues back in 2014 say mid year when the engine light would come for a few days then go off.. Did that twice within a 3 month span. This past July came on and never went off.. Took truck in to GM January 2015 and supposedly had everything which was suppose to be have fixed done.. To a tune of $2994.. I know I had something with the timing changed power steering pump changed and something else I can't remember.. Don't have the paperwork in front of me.. Got the truck back and then all of a sudden the truck began to "become stuck in park" intermittently.. A month of that got it fixed at a tune of $487.. Had to replace the selonoid shift thingy (sorry don't know the name) in the center console.. No more problems until now almost 2 weeks later taking my son to school and the truck decides to stall a little while still in drive... I press the accelerator but does not budge.. Completely at a stop and truck in drive it will not go.. As I press the brake and then try to accelerate it goes barely, but not much.. So I'm stuck in the turning lane not able to move.. I turn the truck off and back on.. Put in drive it goes.. But as soon as I have to brake and try to accelerate again it will not go.. Had to turn off truck again and back on for it to move enough to get me home.. (Luckily I live down the street from school)..

Any suggestions on what could be the problem before I take it in to be looked at and can't afford to get it out?? Please I'm a single working mom..

First thing you should do is check the level of the transmission fluid. It is a dipstick thingie down on the right side under the hood. You can go to a service station, jiffy lube, or ask a friend if you are unsure how to do it.
I just purchased a 2009 Buick Enclave, I absolutely love this vehicle.

But, it started doing something strange the other day.

When I come to a stop, and go to take off again, it's as if the transmission is in neutral. The engine just revs up and vehicle doesn't move. This doesn't happen all the time, but too much for my liking. Then, sometimes, as you're revving the engine, it will pop into gear and the vehicle lurches forward. This also happens in reverse. When it happens, I try to move the shift lever to park, reverse, drive, and nothing.. engine just revs up until it decides to engage and lurch. Sometime it jumps back into gear in 20 seconds, sometimes it takes about a minute. I've even tried shutting off the engine and restarting.

Now, when I drove this vehicle home, approx 200 miles, from the dealer where I purchased it, it performed flawlessly! not a single hint of any problems. It seems to shift very smoothly between gears when driving.

So, after this occurred, I checked the transmission fluid level, and it seemed a bit too high, so I drained some off until the level read correctly. The fluid looked fine, not burnt or dark with debris. I thought perhaps I found the problem. However, I took it to work today, and it did the same thing several times today.

I also connected my scan tool, and it read no codes. None! At the end of the day, I stopped by the local Buick dealer and they scanned it with their tool. Again, no codes.

Anyone experience something like this? Is this a common problem or something unusual? Huh?

Thanks for any thought or suggestions!

You could very well be experiencing a failing wave plate. Since you are second owner the Buick people likely don't know where to send you a letter about the special coverage (10 years, 120,000 miles) recently announced. The coverage is VIV specific, so you need to check that out.

This is exactly what I've experienced.. except I can't get out of my subdivision.
Redbeard stated that the dealer diagnosed it to be a Wave Plate issue, and that they are repairing/ replacing under warranty. So this symptom of dropping out of 1st at a traffic light can be a wave plate as well. They found lots of metal shavings in the fluid. How many miles on yours sftbrn? There is an extended warranty on 2007-2009 for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Unfortunately my symptoms showed up at 138,000.
And your power steering may have been covered as well, that may have a 120,000 mile extended warranty, you may have received a letter from GM. if not ask the dealer. You can apply for a reimbursement.
Unfortunately I am way over 120,000.. I bought mine at 113,000.. I had it towed into Aamco so I'm waiting to hear back.. I love my truck, I do.. I've not had any troubles until now and I bought it in 2011.. Had some engine work done in January.. Timing chains, steering pump and a few other minor issues.. And the dreaded stuck in park issue.. Had that done two weeks ago and now this.. So no warranty coverages for me..
Well.. Turns out I need a transmission replacement.. In shop now as we speak.. I did not go to a GMC dealer because I'm way out of warranty anyway.. I went with Aamco..
What price did they quote you on the tranny? New,used, or rebuild your old? Also what's the current mileage?
I'm currently at 178,000 and price quoted was between $2,800 and $3,400..
