I'm hearing the same thing from the Saturn dealer here. Don't know when they can accept orders for 09's.

There are three Saturn Dealers in my area. Unfortunately, all three are owned by the same person/people. So, story is always the same at all three.

Went to the Saturn dealer two days ago (6-7-08). Met by a sales guy out on the lot. Told him I was potentially interested in ordering an 09. He said that they weren't taking orders for 09's yet and I should consider an 08. Also told me they didn't have any info on changes for 09's. At that point I explained that changes for the new model were available online and that "supposedly" they were to start production later this month. Also, that several of the changes were enough incentive for me to hold out for the 09. He then suggested we go inside and talk to the general manager (now we're getting somewhere!!).

GM was very nice (as was the sales guy) and told me they (the dealer) just placed an order for ten 09 Outlooks for their lot. He showed me paint color and interior options on a foldout card with "2009 Saturn" printed all over it. Other than color's, they really knew nothing about the 09's. Don't know pricing, official changes or even what packages will include what. He said he just ordered vehicles based on what he knew from 07/08.

GM said they should have all the missing info by the end of June at the latest and would call me. He felt that supply was down due to the plant strike, so there really aren't that many 08's for them to clear out. Makes sense.

Lastly, he said I could order an 09, just the way I want it for a $250 deposit. Once the vehicle gets to their lot, if I don't want it, I don't have to buy it. That's really amazing. I fully expect that within the next month or so, I will be placing an order.
